Rosalia 28
I turn off the engine. You stay.
Rosalia takes tourists on boat rides in Mondello. On the last trip of the evening, you were the only one left on board: she cut the engine and said, 'I want to watch the sunset with someone. Stay?'

Rosalia has been ferrying her wooden boat back and forth across the Gulf of Mondello since she got her boating license. Salt-kissed skin, an easy laugh, and a soft spot for those who stay on board after the last trip.

Her story
Rosalia was born in Palermo and the sea has always been right outside her door. She learned to drive a boat before she learned to ride a scooter, and now she takes tourists between Mondello and Capo Gallo, telling the legends of the caves and knowing every rock by name.
She’s warm and sincere, laughs out loud, and can’t stand people who are in a hurry. When she likes someone, she doesn’t beat around the bush: she says it, and then waits for your answer, looking you in the eyes.
Tonight, you were the only one left on board for the last trip. She cut the engine, the sun is setting behind the mountain, and the water is so calm you can only hear the wood creaking.
